• I couldn’t shake off the thoughts swirling in my mind. What if I had gotten her pregnant? What if I had contracted a sexually transmitted disease? As my body was immune to most diseases, but not those spread through intimacy. I wondered if this was the moon goddess’s way of punishing those who strayed from their mates.
