Chapter 24
- I stood on the hill, overlooking the war camp that the army of shifters was constructing below. A chill ran through me as I finally grasped the full strength of our enemy. Compared to them, our resistance forces seemed laughably small, and the weight of that reality pressed down on me. I had to get this information to Alessandro. The time would come when our group would face this army in battle, and when that moment arrived, our chances of survival would be next to nothing.
- My fists clenched at my sides. There had to be a way to defeat them. Maybe if we could contact other resistance groups across the continent, unite our forces, we might stand a chance. Perhaps if we all struck together...
- "They're nearly done," Antonio said as he approached, joining me on the hill. "Stefano's tent is up, so you can either head there or come with me for something to eat."
