• A chill slithered down my spine, freezing everything inside me. "That's... that's your offer?" I croaked.
• Alpha Stefano inclined his head. "You must realize they can either join my army or face death. I highly doubt they'll choose to join, so..."
• My body began to tremble uncontrollably. My entire life had been a pursuit of freedom. I believed I had won that freedom three years ago, but now, I was on the verge of losing it once more. My gaze drifted to the cuff secured around my wrist, and a suffocating sense of dread overwhelmed me. It was as if I were drowning, sinking into an ocean of chains. Was this my fate? To live bound, as this man's pet?
