• When I opened my eyes, the room was quiet and the soft light of morning slipped through the curtains, painting faint lines across the floor. I could hear Alpha Kieran’s slow breathing beside me, though I knew he wasn’t really asleep as I could feel it in the stillness of his body and in the tension that clung to him.
• For a moment, I just lay there, staring at the ceiling blankly. The dream from the other night or whatever it was, still hung in my head. The Moon Goddess, her voice that sounded like both an echo and a heartbeat, the strange warmth that had filled my chest when she touched me. I didn’t know what to make of it and I didn't know how exactly to let Alpha Kieran know about it. As I was avoiding so many questions from him, especially the reborn that has at least been a secret to him.
