Chapter 28 Getting Him

• Kade is exactly where I want him, running. It’s pathetic, to be honest. The way he thinks this gives him some kind of power, like disappearing, ignoring my calls, and shutting himself off will somehow make me lose interest. As if that’s even possible. I don’t lose interest. I don’t move on. I don’t let go. He should know that by now just from how I play on the ice, but he's forgotten that, he's not thinking about how relentless I am when I want something.
• Let him run. Let him pretend he’s free. Because the best part? Dragging him back. I will enjoy every second of forcing him to come back with me, and then watching the fight drain out of him. He will give in, and I'll enjoy watching him finally understand that there is no getting away from me.
