• The past few days have been nice. No drama, no bullshit, just time to breathe, to actually be with Rook without everything else closing in. And somehow, I’ve watched my mom slowly open up to him.
• I don’t know what it is exactly. Maybe it’s the way he’s been careful around her, not pushing too hard, not shoving his usual arrogance in her face. Or maybe it’s the fact that, for the first time, she’s realizing he actually means it when he says he loves me.
