Chapter 26 Distractions
- Kade POV
- “Come on, that wasn’t fair!” one of the kids calls out, his stick smacking against the pavement as he skates toward me. He’s smaller than the others, maybe thirteen or fourteen, with an oversized jersey hanging off his shoulders and skates that have seen better days. But there’s something in his stance, in the way he grips his stick, that makes me pause.
- “What’s your name, kid?” I ask, twirling the puck on the blade of my stick.
