• Emilia’s POV
• I was excited to finally have Alex home after his trip. I've missed him so much. I had always wanted to go out of state to see him but due to work and Alex's discouragement I did not go. The news of his return brought me so much joy but his return scattered it. It hit me hard. He's planning to marry my bestie and had grown from being with her mom, whom I pretty much had no issue with.
• Seeing him walk into the house with Yvonne made it feel as though the veil that had been shielding me from reality had been pulled out and everything finally started making sense. Every little detail that I had brushed off in the past became a piece of a puzzle. I denied the possibility against my rationality, it was as if my whole being entered a defensive mood.
