Chapter 11

• Three days later
• Waking up with a groan, feeling the telltale ache across her pelvis and the impending wetness, Kelly hurtled herself out of bed before she leaked on her sheets. Though she would rather lay there and pretend to be a loaf of bread, she didn’t want to have to buy new bedding and the whole process that would go with it. Cleaning herself up, shoving a pad in her underwear, and washing her hands, she then tossed a spare one in her backpack so she wouldn’t forget. Then she checked her phone, groaning in annoyance.
• She was early. Not exactly unusual, her cycle had always been hit-or-miss thanks to her malnutrition, until recently. Thanks to her ever-generous Mr. NathRoth, she was eating three meals a day and Jenna convinced her to buy a bottle of multivitamins, so things were getting regular. But she had an appointment with him tomorrow. Even if he wanted to see her do stuff while she was on her period, that was not what she wanted to do. Ever. She had just canceled the regular shows when this had happened once before but couldn’t do that this time. He had already paid her.
