Chapter 9
- "Where could that bitch be!?" Stephan muttered to himself as he angrily paced around his room.
- Laura who was sitting on his bed couldn't help but roll her eyes at his words. "I wonder why he's so bothered about her." She scoffed.
- "I can hear you, Laura." Stephan said with a warning growl.
- Laura heaved a deep breath. "The guards clearly said that they've searched everywhere for her, but she's nowhere to be found." Laura stated. "Couldn't that mean something? If they can't find her or her dead body, then maybe she's escaped to somewhere else. She could literally be in another pack by now, or maybe other wolves would have made a feast out of her body, after all she's nothing but a helpless omega who can't even fight to save her life."
- "I still see no reason why you should be stressing yourself about her, and if you badly want to find her that much, why don't you just go see the pack witch or something." She scoffed.
- Stephan wanted to yell at her and ask her to shut up, but when he heard those words, he paused to think about what she's just said.
- Laura who didn't hear him say anything looked at him, and when she saw the look on his face, that's when she realized what she's just said. "Oh shit!" She mentally groaned.
- Laura immediately got down from the bed. "Stephan." She slowly approached him. "I hope you know I didn't mean what I just said." She said nervously. "I...I was just kidding. There's no need for you to see the pack's priestess. I really didn't mean it."
- Stephan smirked. "No, Laura. You're right. If the guards can't find her, I'm sure someone spiritual will be able to." He replied.
- Laura's shoulders slumped in defeat, and she knew it was all over.
- "Thanks for your advice, Laura. You've proven to me that you're not useless after all." Stephan said before rushing out of his room, heading straight to the pack's priestess hut.
- Laura repeated slapped her mouth, pushing herself for speaking too much. "That bitch Jasmine!" Laura cursed in anger. "Even in her absence, I still can't get Stephan all to myself. But don't you worry Stephan, I'm never going to give up on you, soon I'll make you mine completely, and the thing we between us won't be just about sex." She vowed.
- "I hope they never find you Jasmine. I hope you're dead and rotting in hell!" She cursed. "The only one who deserves to be the true Luna of this pack is me, and I won't stop until that happens. Stephan is mine, only mine!"
- Meanwhile, Stephan was already at the pack's priestess hut. He was currently sitting in the room, waiting for her to show up. Just when he was about to loose his patience due to the delay, the pack's priestess arrived.
- "Alpha Stephan." She called with a smirk. "I didn't expect to see you here. What brings you to my home?" She asked, then she went to take her sit in front of him.
- "I'm looking for someone, and I believe you can help me." Stephan replied, not wanting to beat around the bush. "My guards can't find her anywhere, but I'm sure you can. You're the pack's priestess." He added, and the priestess smiled.
- "You're searching for your rejected mate, isn't it." The priestess replied, surprising Stephan.
- Stephan wanted to say something, but she beat him to it. "I'm afraid I cannot tell you where she is, Alpha."
- "What? Why not?" He asked, confused.
- "It's not in my position to help you find her. If you want to see your rejected mate, then you must find her yourself, so I cannot be of any help to you, Alpha."
- Stephan frowned, he could feel his anger rising. "You do realize that I am your alpha, and I can order you to do whatever I wish." He stated. "And if I want you to tell me where Jasmine is, then you'll do just that!" He said authoritatively.
- "I cannot go against fate, Alpha. If you two are destined to meet again, then you'll definitely see her again."
- "I'll take it that she's not dead yet," Stephan replied. The priestess's gaze narrowed, her eyes flashing with a warning, as if daring him to take it further.
- "You are the pack's priestess, but I can still torture you to get what I want, so you had better tell me where she is or suffer the consequence of your silence." He threatened dangerously.
- A small smile appeared on the pack's priestess's lips. "You're right about that, Alpha. But I am not moved by your threat, nothing you say or do will make me tell you anything, not even if you decide to kill me."
- Stephan couldn't believe what he's just heard. "So you're saying that you're willing to risk your life for a lowly omega, and one you know nothing about. Is that what you're saying?"
- The priestess chuckled. "How foolish of you to call her a lowly omega. You only dare to say that because you know nothing of what she is, and I'm pretty sure she has no idea what her true identity is."
- Stephan furrowed his brow, confusion written all over his face. "What do you mean her true identity? What do you know about Jasmine?" He asked, but the priestess said nothing, she could only look at him, her face showing no emotion.
- Stephan couldn't bare her silence and yelled in frustration. "If you're not going to tell me where she is, then you should at least tell me what she is!"
- Still the priestess said nothing, frustrating Stephan even more.
- "Damn it! Why won't you tell me anything?" He yelled in both anger and frustration, then he stood up.
- "Not with that tone of yours, Alpha Stephan." The priestess finally replied, her voice holding a bit of anger.
- Stephan looked at her for sometime. He turned his back to her and tried to calm himself down. He so badly want to tear her to shreds, but he must control himself because he's so not ready to find another priestess for his pack.
- After he's managed to calm himself down, he turned to her and apologized for his behaviour, then he pleaded with her to tell him what she meant by Jasmine's true identity.
- "Please, Priestess. Give me the answer to just this question." He pleaded.
- After careful contemplation, the priestess finally came to a conclusion.
- "Fine then, I'll tell you what her true identity is, but after this I can say nothing more, and you must leave my hut."
- "You have my word." Stephan agreed and took a sit.
- "Are you sure you want to know what she is?" the priestess asked, her tone cautious. "She's something special, the last of her kind." Stephan's curiosity was piqued, his interest growing with every word.
- "Yes. I want to know." Stephan replied, eager to hear what she has to say.
- What could Jasmine possibly be? Why is she the last of her kind?
- "Jasmine...."
- "About what she truly is...."
