Chapter 78

• Jasmine and Nicolai emerged from the courtroom, beaming with relief. Nicolai cradled Amaya in his arms, while Jasmine held Owen close. Kent rushed up to them, out of breath.
• "Nick, Jasmine, I'm so sorry I missed it." Kent apologized, feeling a pang of guilt. He had gotten caught up in a romantic morning with Scott and lost track of time, nearly forgetting the importance of today's court hearing.
• Amaya and Owen squealed in unison, "Uncle Kent!" Stretching out their arms. Kent laughed, taking both children from their parents and enveloping them in a warm hug.
