Chapter 31 Running Errands

- My head was racing when I woke up, and my temples were pulsating with a dull discomfort. I couldn't stop thinking about what happened the night before Diego's remarks, his mocking grin, and the way he had forced me to the wall. The sensation that I had just about avoided something far riskier than a casual talk persisted in my mind.
- I rubbed my temples in bed as I sat up, trying to ease the pain. My thoughts couldn't stop racing, so I hardly slept at all. However, I couldn't afford to be preoccupied today. I had to concentrate, remain vigilant, and consider my next course of action.
