Chapter 24 The Meal

• I awakened to a golden streak of sunlight slicing across the room through the window. I sat up, grunting slightly as I peered against the light. One more day, one more set of issues to resolve. But before I could focus on the activities of the day that lay ahead of me, a savory, sweet scent found it's way into my room and enveloped me.
• Rich and inviting, the aroma was of different spices that promised contentment and warmth. I was intrigued enough to get out of bed after reading it. I quickly changed into a singlet and shorts, and I blindly followed the alluring aroma down the hallway and out of my room.
