Chapter 351 Hometown Girl Fang Ting
- Li Wei hung up and drove to the KTV Lin Tianjiao had sent him. From Dingsheng, it should’ve taken about twenty minutes—rush hour, jammed lanes, bumper to bumper. Luckily, he handled a wheel like a pro and made it in a little over ten minutes. He parked, then hurried inside. A young male server led him down the hall, and soon they were at the private room door. He was just about to push it open when he heard a woman a short way off talking on the phone in their hometown dialect. Li Wei glanced over. The woman had a sharp short cut, wore business attire, tall—about the same height as Xiao Ran, maybe even a tad taller. Northern women being tall wasn’t anything unusual anyway. She had on black heels, phone in one hand, a cigarette between the fingers of the other, leaning against the wall like she owned the place. From years of schmoozing clients, Li Wei could tell at a glance: this hometown woman was definitely management here. Then a thought hit him. He smiled and walked over to her. “Hey, gorgeous, got a light?” He asked in their hometown dialect, grinning. The woman looked at him, surprised and amused, her brows tightening a little. She tapped a finger toward her side, meaning: take it yourself. But her lighter was tucked in her pants pocket, and Li Wei felt awkward reaching. Seeing that, she tilted her head again, a quick motion that said: quit stalling, just grab it. Li Wei slid his hand into her pocket. Her pants were snug, the pocket lining thin as tissue—he could feel the shape of her thigh. He pulled out the lighter and sparked up his own cigarette. “Thanks.” He said it, then slipped the lighter back into her pocket. That little back-and-forth left the woman a bit stiff. I mean, Li Wei was tall, handsome, from her hometown, around her age—maybe even a smidge younger. She finished her call and smiled at him. “Hey there, hometown hottie! I’m Fang Ting. You?” “Li Wei. Nice to meet you, neighbor.” Even though Lin Tianjiao and Shen Mengxi were inside still wrestling with that pack of lechers, barging in wouldn’t really help them. Worst case, that crowd got pissed and walked out. If that happened, Zhou Tao would blow his top. Then not only would Lin Tianjiao and Shen Mengxi get chewed out—Li Wei would get dragged into it too. Zhou Tao would hype the mess and pass it to Tan Hui, and Tan Hui would definitely lay into Li Wei. After all, he was running Operations now; he shouldn’t be butting into Marketing’s business. “Ting, looks like you’re doing all right here.” Fang Ting smiled. “So-so. I wrangled a supervisor gig—just trying to make a living. What about you, kid?” “Same. Working to get by. Hey, Ting, mind doing me a favor?” She frowned slightly. “What kind of favor?” “That room up front—168. Could you send a few ladies in to have a drink with us? I’ll settle up later.” Fang Ting arched a brow, a wicked little smile curving her lips. “You’ve got game, kid. All right. Since you’re one of mine from back home, I’ll set it up.” She lifted her phone and made the call. Soon, five girls walked up to them. “Hi, Ting!” the five greeted her. “Kid, I brought your people. Take them in.” “Thanks, Ting.” “Just a thank-you?” Li Wei gave a sheepish grin. “Name your price. I won’t argue.” “You said it. I’m holding you to it—no backing out later.” With that wicked smile still in place, Fang Ting turned and strode off.
