Chapter 11 Rescue

  • Wilbur's words pissed Trevor off, for this b*stared was clearly saying he was incompetent while also commenting on his wife's weight.
  • Even so, he suffered in silence and did not lash out at Wilbur.
  • Even if he wanted to deal with the man, he couldn't do it in the office—certainly not his office.
  • When Wilbur was at the door, he turned to them and said, "By the way, I'll take over Catherine Lyon's case. Rina, please tell Zeke about this."
  • At that, Trevor pointed out, "Zeke has been talking to Catherine for three months. He said he's already close to having her sign the deal. It's inappropriate for you to take over now, don't you think?"
  • "Do you think he can seal the deal now when he can't even get it done in three f*cking months?" Wilbur asked with disdain. "Operations spent a ton on promotion during the third quarter, yet the marketing department didn't reach the sales target as expected. How do you suppose Mr. Thorne thinks about this?"
  • Trevor shut up upon hearing Wilbur's words, for he was well aware that their sales performance in the third quarter had been poor. Moreover, the operations department had an issue with him. If they didn't give it their all in this final week, it would be tough to explain to Hendrick Thorne.
  • In actuality, Trevor was worried about his year-end bonus rather than the company's sales.
  • After saying all that he wanted to, Wilbur left Trevor's office.
  • As Wilbur shut the door, Serena strode to Trevor and hugged his right arm while whining, "You've seen how outrageous Wilbur is behaving yourself, Trevor. If you don't put him in his place, he… he might ask me to sleep with him."
  • At that, Trevor shot up from his seat and roared furiously as he slammed his right fist on the table. "If I don't show that f*cking loser who's the boss, he's going to think I'm a pushover. Contact Gus for me. Have him bring a few men with him to teach Wilbur a lesson tonight. I can certainly agree to your demands, Wilbur, but I can also f*ck you bit by bit when you least expect it. I'm going to have you know that pissing me off will get you nothing."
  • Likewise, Serena smiled triumphantly upon hearing it. She was already beyond livid after Wilbur slapped her butt and even demanded that she give him a massage.
  • Gus was a two-bit hoodlum in Sanlow, and he and his lackeys would fool around in all sorts of entertainment venues. In the past, he had also helped Trevor with a solid number of misdeeds.
  • No doubt Wilbur would be in trouble tonight when Trevor decided to let Gus deal with him.
  • Outside, Wilbur took a nap on his desk after leaving Trevor's office.
  • In actuality, he had long been paying attention to Catherine's case, so naturally, he'd have devised a few plans to deal with her.
  • At 3.30PM, Wilbur slowly rose from his seat while yawning and stretching. Then, he headed to the washroom.
  • If it were in the past, Serena would've long come and yelled at him if he dared take a nap on his desk so outrageously.
  • But now, Serena didn't dare say anything even if he dared sleep until he clocked out.
  • After freshening up, he got on his electric motorcycle and headed out to the school where Marcus Lyon, Catherine's son, was studying. That way, he'd be able to meet Catherine directly like that.
  • Though Zeke's capability was beneath him, his performance was commendable. In fact, he was one of the best salesmen in the whole of Labyrinth's marketing department.
  • If he couldn't get Catherine to sign the deal after three months, it meant that she was hard to meet.
  • As such, instead of calling her only to be turned down, why not meet her straight? At the very least, Wilbur would be able to say a word or two to her, no?
  • However, just as Wilbur arrived at the school, Catherine was arguing with a man and a woman while a crowd surrounded them.
  • The woman was chubby and looked rather aggressive, whereas the guy next to her was burly. Clearly, Catherine was outmatched.
  • Seeing that the woman was about to attack Catherine, Wilbur charged over and grabbed the chubby woman's hand, pushing her away.
  • "Why fight when you can talk?!"
  • The man wanted to attack Wilbur, but seeing that he was stalwart, the man cowered.
  • "Sir, Buck started it. I only hit him because he said I'm a b*stard with no father."
  • Wilbur looked down upon hearing the voice to find it was Marcus talking to him.
  • The boy was teary-eyed, looking absolutely aggrieved.
  • Whether he could bag Catherine's case was beside the point now. He had to stick up for Marcus, or this might leave the boy scarred.
