Chapter 9 Aggrieved

  • "Wilbur, you b*stard!"
  • At that, Serena shoved Wilbur away and raised her right arm to slap his face. However, Wilbur caught it in time and looked coldly at her. "I like you better when you're not feisty. Alas, you were at your most attractive last night."
  • Serena flung his hand away in response. She then turned to Trevor aggrievedly while whining, "Trevor, he's bullying me again. You have to set this straight for me."
  • Meanwhile, Trevor was also frothing at the mouth. It was as if Wilbur would've dared to act so brazenly toward Serena in front of him previously when the guy would even behave differentially to him whenever they bumped into each other.
  • But now? Not only did Wilbur dare to call him by his name, but he even slapped Serena's butt right in front of him. This guy didn't give a damn about him anymore.
  • However, Trevor was also well aware that he couldn't get rough with Wilbur, for it meant that Wilbur had already prepared for the worst when he dared face them off like this.
  • What was more, Wilbur was now just a regular salesman in Labyrinth Systems. Meanwhile, he and Serena held important positions in the company—one was a marketing director, and the other was a sales supervisor. If they really had a bitter fallout with Wilbur, they'd lose out the most.
  • "Alright, cut it out. I need to talk business with Wilbur."
  • Seeing that Trevor wouldn't stand up for her, Serena stomped her feet in exasperation.
  • Meanwhile, before Trevor even had the chance to speak, Wilbur had gone up to him, motioning him to get up from his seat.
  • "I'm a little tired. Why don't you sit across here while I take your executive chair?"
  • "You…" Trevor pointed at Wilbur, pissed off by his attitude.
  • However, he got up and gave Wilbur his seat in the end. After all, he couldn't butt heads with Wilbur now; he could only steady him for the time being.
  • After sitting in Trevor's chair, Wilbur patted the armrest and said smugly, "This is really comfortable, Trevor. You sure know how to enjoy life! Check out the material! The feel of real leather sure is nice."
  • At that, he looked over to Serena while saying with a smile, "Miss Light, my shoulders suddenly feel sore. Can I trouble you to give me a massage?"
  • "Who do you think you are to order me like this?!" Serena snapped with disdain, leading Wilbur to pull his phone out. "Come to think of it, my hand is also shaking violently," he said as he quivered the hand holding the phone.
  • "Do you guys think I will accidentally press the wrong button when I play with my phone in this condition?"
  • Trevor gnashed his teeth in response, and he was seething with fury. However, there was nothing he could do.
  • Even if he and Serena attacked Wilbur, they were no match for him since Wilbur was now a man in his prime, tall and stalwart. In fact, even the security in Labyrinth was no match for him.
  • At that, Trevor shot Serena a glance and tilted his head, signaling her to do as Wilbur ordered.
  • Serena stomped her feet in anger again, and there was reluctance written all over her face. However, she still went behind Wilbur and massaged his neck.
  • "Have you not had your lunch yet, Miss Light? How come you're so weak? I'll have you know that I've seared the sentence you said every meeting into my mind—do your work with the right attitude and treat everything with care. However, look at you now. You're clearly not giving your all! I remember you could keep yourself upright when Trevor repeatedly thrust into you with great force last night; you even had dissatisfaction written all over your face. It didn't look like you have weak arms at all! Am I right, Trevor?"
