• Zander felt the weight of the decision settle heavily on his shoulders. He was stepping into dangerous territory, allowing her into his space, and he couldn’t shake the feeling that it would complicate everything.
• Once inside the bedroom, he turned to her, arms crossed over his chest. “This is just for tonight. You sleep on the other side of the bed," he said, his voice icy.
• “Of course,” she replied, a hint of a smile playing on her lips as she moved to the bed. Zander couldn’t help but notice how the light caught her features, softening her expression, but he quickly pushed the thought aside.
