• Wendy, Benjamin's assistant, burst out of his cabin, tears streaming down her face. She stumbled down the path, her sobs echoing through the air as she clutched her purse and hastily gathered belongings.
• Adeline watched her go, concern etched on her face. She took a deep breath, steeling herself for what she might find inside, and stepped into the cabin.
• Inside, Benjamin paced, his face thunderous, papers scattered everywhere. His usual composure had given way to frustration.
