• Adeline walked out of Sebastian's office hours, her backpack slung over her shoulder, and stepped into the bustling college hallway. Students rushed past, chatting and laughing, as she made her way through the crowd.
• Nathan, heir to Pembroke Industries, leaned against a nearby locker, watching Adeline with an intensity that made her uncomfortable. His eyes, piercing blue, seemed to bore into her soul.
• "Hey, Adeline," Nathan called out, pushing off the locker. "Want to grab coffee with me? I heard that new café on campus just opened."
