Chapter 3 What Can Your Dog Mouth Spit Out?

  • Huo Miao felt Ye Manxi's soft and delicate hand holding his own, and he comforted her by gently squeezing it. He quietly instructed the butler, "Bring it in."
  • The butler entered the room with a tray and placed it heavily on the table.
  • "Young master, young madam, congratulations on your wedding!"
  • Ye Manxi glanced at the tray, which contained two dishes and a soup - tofu, vegetables, and a bowl of clear soup.
  • They feed Huo Miao this every day, no wonder he is so thin.
  • Ye Manxi clenched her fist, wishing to punch his dough-like face.
  • Huo Miao spoke, "Get out!"
  • Although Huo Miao was blind, his presence was still commanding. The butler cowered and left, muttering to himself, "I'm really unlucky to be assigned here. Who would willingly serve a blind person like you?"
  • The butler slammed the door shut.
  • Before coming here, Ye Manxi had imagined Huo Miao's situation, but she didn't expect it to be like this.
  • She really wanted to take out her silver needle and paralyze both the butler and the mean maid.
  • Huo Miao didn't hear any movement from Ye Manxi for a long time. The dusty air was filled with the sour smell of tofu.
  • Even if they were served vegetables and tofu, they wouldn't be given fresh ones.
  • Ye Manxi remained silent for a long time, and Huo Miao thought she was disgusted.
  • "You can still leave now," he said lightly. "No one will trouble you."
  • Huo Miao misunderstood. Ye Manxi was actually thinking about how to punish those villains.
  • She turned around and looked at Huo Miao's pale face, then ran towards him and hugged his waist tightly, burying her face in his chest.
  • Ye Manxi's warm face against Huo Miao's chest warmed his heart. He gently touched her soft and flexible hair, afraid of hurting her.
  • "If you stay, you may suffer for a while, but I promise I won't let you suffer like this forever, Luhe. You have accompanied me through hardships, and I will let you taste the sweetest life."
  • In fact, as long as she could be with Huo Miao, everything she ate would be the sweetest.
  • Ye Manxi brought the plate over and picked up a piece of tofu, placing it near Huo Miao's lips.
  • He opened his mouth and ate it.
  • The tofu was sour and rough, but he had gotten used to it during this time.
  • He was worried that the woman who was used to a life of luxury wouldn't be able to handle it, but he heard Ye Manxi also pick up a piece and chew on it.
  • The sound of Ye Manxi chewing was perhaps the most pleasant sound he had ever heard.
  • He reached out his hand to Ye Manxi, and she placed her hand in his palm.
  • Huo Miao gently pulled Ye Manxi into his embrace, cradling her small face. His soft lips pressed against her forehead, slid down her gracefully curved nose, and kissed her tender lips.
  • Huo Miao's lips gradually grew warm, igniting the cold loneliness that filled the room.
  • Ye Manxi was never afraid of hardship as long as she could be with Huo Miao. It didn't matter what kind of hardship she had to endure.
  • Although she shared the same surname and lived in the same mansion, and even though Ye Zemin was her biological father, her identity was that of a maid with the title of the second young miss of the Ye family.
  • Living and eating with the servants of the Ye family, Ye Manxi knew what her father wanted, otherwise he wouldn't have kept her in the Ye family all this time.
  • The reason she stayed in the Ye family was partly for her grandfather's clinic and partly because Huo Miao used to come to the Ye family to see Ye Lühe, and she could secretly watch him from the sidelines.
  • Now, the person she longed for was right in front of her, kissing her passionately.
  • Although Huo Miao's heart belonged to Ye Lühe, and he thought he was kissing Ye Lühe, it didn't matter.
  • As long as she could be by his side at this moment.
  • Huo Miao picked up Ye Manxi and walked towards the bed.
  • ...
  • As the night grew darker, Ye Manxi curled up in Huo Miao's embrace and fell asleep.
  • Holding Ye Manxi, who was sound asleep in his arms, he stroked her smooth, long hair.
  • He suddenly wondered when her hair had become straight?
  • Before, she had curly hair.
  • He was thinking too much. Besides Ye Lühe, who else would foolishly marry him now?
  • In the quiet of the night, Ye Manxi's breathing was like a lullaby, and Huo Miao gradually fell asleep as well.
  • The sound of boots tapping on the wooden floor echoed, and someone forcefully pushed open the door. Bending respectfully, a man in a black coat walked in.
  • Huo Miao woke up as soon as the man stepped into the room; the sound of his boots was too familiar.
  • Huo Miao covered Ye Manxi completely with the blanket and sat up on the bed.
  • The cold voice came from beside his bed: "Cousin, your cousin is celebrating his wedding today. As a cousin, you should come and celebrate."
  • "You're thoughtful," Huo Miao snorted.
  • "As brothers, there's no need to be polite," Huo Tianqi turned his head and glanced at the bodyguard behind him. The bodyguard immediately took off his coat and laid it on the rattan chair. Huo Tianqi sat down, took off his black leather gloves, and lightly tapped the dust off his boots.
  • "Do you know why I came to congratulate you so late?" he casually asked while tapping his boots.
  • "What nonsense are you going to spout, Huo Tianqi? I'm not interested in your affairs," Huo Miao laughed.
  • Upon hearing Huo Miao's words, the bodyguards became restless. Huo Tianqi, however, remained unfazed and waved his hand, saying calmly,
  • "This time it's not about me." He stood up from the rattan chair and walked to the edge of Huo Miao's bed, bending down with his head lowered, close to Huo Miao's ear. "Your dear grandfather passed away two hours ago, from a heart attack."
  • Huo Miao was stunned, as if his head had been struck by a heavy blow. "What did you say?"
