Chapter 18 Miao, You Finally Came!

  • Everyone turned their heads towards the door and saw Jiang Jiye supporting Huo Miao as they entered.
  • Huo Tianqi couldn't stay seated and stood up from his chair.
  • He took off his glasses and rubbed his eyes. He wasn't mistaken, it really was Huo Miao!
  • Dressed in a suit and sunglasses, Huo Miao walked towards him with the assistance of Jiang Jiye.
  • Huo Tianqi's finger trembled slightly, and he immediately whispered to his assistant beside him, "How did he come? Wasn't he supposed to be critically ill?"
  • "I, I don't know either. They just called a while ago and said so," the assistant stammered.
  • The journalists were in an uproar, their camera shutters clicking non-stop.
  • Although Huo Miao was walking slowly, each step was steady.
  • With every step Huo Miao took closer, Huo Tianqi's mouth twitched.
  • But seeing Jiang Jiye carefully supporting him, Huo Tianqi assumed that Huo Miao must still be blind.
  • Huo Tianqi's confidence suddenly grew, he cleared his throat and smiled, "So, my cousin has arrived."
  • Jiang Jiye helped Huo Miao up onto the stage, standing in front of Huo Tianqi.
  • Huo Miao was a few centimeters taller than him, not much of a difference, but his imposing aura made Huo Tianqi feel a bit short of breath.
  • He laughed with a hint of uncertainty and shook Huo Miao's hand, "Little brother, are you here for my appointment ceremony? Shall we bring you a chair to sit and listen?"
  • Huo Miao calmly pursed his lips and withdrew his hand from Huo Tianqi's slightly sweaty palm. Jiang Jiye quickly handed him a tissue, and Huo Miao took it to wipe his hand that had been dampened by Huo Tianqi. He calmly said, "Your appointment ceremony means nothing."
  • The corners of Huo Tianqi's mouth twitched again, and he immediately retorted, "I think you've gone insane, haven't you?"
  • "Without Grandfather's seal, all of this is just waste paper."
  • Huo Miao held the appointment letter in his hand, disdainfully throwing it back onto the table.
  • The journalists approached the stage with their cameras, surrounded by the gazes of many people. Huo Tianqi felt a bit embarrassed and angry, "Huo Miao, don't cause trouble. If I were you, I would just stay put!"
  • "I can't stay," Huo Miao sighed and said, "Coincidentally, I have Grandfather's seal, and I brought it with me."
  • Huo Miao reached out his hand to Jiang Jiye, and Jiang Jiye immediately took out a small box from his pocket and opened it to show everyone.
  • The seal that Huo Tianqi had been searching for but couldn't find was indeed with Huo Miao!
  • Huo Tianqi's hand trembled violently, "It's fake, it's fake!"
  • Jiang Jiye stamped the seal on the paper and handed it to Huang, the lawyer beside Huo Tianqi.
  • Huang carefully examined it and nodded with a pale face, "It's real, it's the old man's seal."
  • Huo Tianqi instantly deflated and sat down on a chair.
  • Huang leaned over and whispered something in his ear. Huo Tianqi became excited again, stood up, and pointed at Huo Miao's nose, shouting, "You blind fool, what can you do with the seal? Can you manage the company? Can you read documents? You even need someone to support you while walking!"
  • Before Huo Tianqi finished speaking, Huo Miao suddenly took off his sunglasses.
  • Under the sunglasses were a pair of bright eyes.
  • Huo Tianqi even saw his own pale face reflected in Huo Miao's sparkling pupils.
  • His lips trembled, and he reached out his finger and waved it in front of Huo Miao, "You can see? Impossible..."
  • Huo Miao picked up the appointment letter on the table and flipped to the last page, frowning slightly, "Huo Tianqi, why don't you work on your handwriting? Your writing is still as ugly as ever!"
  • The journalists in the audience became excited. One of them handed the microphone to Huo Miao and said loudly, "Mr. Huo, do you still remember me?"
  • "Oh." Huo Miao looked at him, "If I remember correctly, you are a journalist from the Spring Breeze Magazine, right?"
  • "Yes, yes!" The journalist said happily.
  • People couldn't help but discuss, "Mr. Huo can really see now?"
  • "It turns out that Huo Tianqi was just a fraud..."
  • The discussions of the crowd were driving Huo Tianqi crazy. He shouted and slammed the table, "This is my appointment ceremony, everyone unrelated, get out!"
  • At that moment, someone shouted, "Mr. Jiang is here!"
  • An old man slowly walked in from the door. When Huo Tianqi saw him, his legs went weak, and his assistant quickly supported him to prevent him from falling to the ground.
  • This Mr. Jiang was one of the co-founders of Huo Corporation with the old Mr. Huo. Later, due to his poor health, Mr. Jiang returned to his hometown to enjoy his retirement and sold all his shares to the old Mr. Huo.
  • Unexpectedly, Huo Miao had actually found Mr. Jiang.
  • Mr. Jiang walked to the front of the stage and shook hands with Huo Miao. He glanced at Huo Tianqi with indifference and said, "Huo Tianqi, your grandfather just passed away and you're already scheming to seize power. Your grandfather and I had an agreement. If there is no will, the most legally binding thing is his seal! These papers of yours are just worthless pieces of paper!"
  • Mr. Jiang picked up the two papers and threw them off the stage, causing a burst of laughter.
  • Huo Tianqi stared straight at Huo Miao. He knew he had lost, but he just couldn't believe that Huo Miao had really regained his sight.
  • Pointing at Huo Miao's nose, he said, "You're pretending, aren't you? Or are you blind?"
  • Suddenly, Huo Miao accurately and forcefully twisted Huo Tianqi's finger. Huo Tianqi screamed in agony, "Ouch, ouch, ouch..."
  • "Now, do you believe that I can see?" Huo Miao asked.
  • "Ouch, ouch, ouch..." Huo Tianqi continued to cry out in pain.
  • His screams were so unpleasant that there was a microphone on the table, and his agonized cries echoed throughout the hall.
  • Mr. Jiang said, "Huo Miao, luckily I was present today. As a witness, I will transfer the Huo family to your hands."
  • Huo Miao tightened his grip on Huo Tianqi's finger, and even the sound of Huo Tianqi's finger bones being twisted could be heard.
  • Looking at Huo Tianqi's contorted expression, Huo Miao's tone turned even colder. "Huo Tianqi, isn't it about time you returned my wife to me?"
  • ...
  • The car jolted along the muddy road, passing by the desolate factory up ahead.
  • As rain began to fall, setting the perfect atmosphere, Huo Miao stepped out of the car. His assistant held up an umbrella for him. Huo Miao glanced at the person beside him and inquired, "Where is Jiang Jiye?"
  • "He's taking care of matters at the venue."
  • "Hmm." Huo Miao nodded and proceeded towards the factory.
  • Pushing open the heavy iron door, it emitted a creaking sound, shedding rust as it swung open.
  • The factory had been abandoned for quite some time, with a thick layer of dust covering everything inside. Huo Miao covered his mouth and nose with his fist and swiftly made his way inside.
  • Walking through the empty factory, he eventually caught sight of a figure curled up in the corner.
  • Huo Miao couldn't contain his excitement and hurried over, calling out, "Lu He!"
  • The girl, who had been bowing her head, looked up. Her face was covered in dirt and soot, and she struggled to stand up, her hands and feet bound.
  • Taking a few steps towards Huo Miao, she exclaimed, "Ah Miao, you've finally come!"
