• Vincent stepped into the elevator and pressed the button for one of the top floors. The doors slid shut, and the elevator began its ascent. He tried to prepare himself mentally for what he was about to face.
• As the elevator doors opened to the desired floor, Vincent stepped out. Patients and doctors rushed past him, the sounds of beeping machines and muffled conversations filling his ears. He moved through the crowd, weaving his way through the maze of corridors until he finally reached Claire’s room.
• Vincent stood outside the door for a moment, his hand resting on the knob. He took a deep breath, trying to gather his thoughts and emotions before entering the room. When he felt ready, he turned the knob slowly, not wanting to startle her. With a soft smile on his face, he stepped inside.
