• The silence that fell between them was like a shrill noise that made Claire flinch. Her heart was beating too fast. Her head was running at a mile’s pace. None of this made any sense, but she was smart enough to know nothing happened without a reason, either.
• “Until Vincent is back, stay here. I’ll ask Noemie to arrange a room for you.” Ajax said and Claire was surprised when she didn’t find his usual bitterness reserved only for her, laced with those words.
• “I want to see Vince.” How could she not? She had to be there. With him. Just to think of all the pressure he would be under gave her chills. She knew being an older brother, Ajax would do everything in his power to bring Vincent back. But somehow it wasn’t enough. This peculiar feeling in her gut kept on growing worse.
