Chapter 150
- Claire wasn’t sure whether she was at the right place, but the last time she saw those men, it had to have been at this pub. This was clearly not the setting she was used to. There were too many intoxicated and dangerous-looking folks strewn around. The stench of something horrible burnt her nostrils, and no matter where she glanced, she received an unwelcome grunt.
- Claire fought the need to puke as she made her way deeper into the tavern. There were eyes boring holes in the back of her skull, on the side of her face, or just on her ass. Perhaps it was because she was one of the few girls in the bar who dared to enter such a frightening and miserable spot. Or because she had a man at her side who looked like he’d throw a punch and break someone’s jaw if anyone even thought about touching her.
- Claire had no idea which of her assumptions troubled her the most. Probably both.
