Chapter 101

• The next morning, when Claire woke up, she found herself curled against the squishy pillow. Her eyes opened ever so gently while the sound of the shower running swept into her ears.
• Last night after Vincent found her by the pool, she felt giddy in a way words could barely explain. It was proof. That he cared. He still did. And it was sufficient to supply her with another wave of hope that she could win him back. She lifted her head just a little to glance over her shoulder and her sluggish head promptly realized it had to be Vincent in the shower.
• The thought rode like an electric current through her veins.
