Chapter 191
- Vincent’s fingers trembled as they hovered over the trigger of the gun. His gaze flicked back and forth between Michael, who was barely holding on, and Falsetti, who stood with a sinister smile on his face. Despite knowing that Michael deserved to pay for his crimes, Vincent couldn’t bring himself to actually pull the trigger. It was easy to talk tough, but the reality of taking a life was much harder to face.
- Falsetti seemed to sense Vincent’s hesitation and pressed the knife harder against Claire’s throat, making her gasp. “You’re not a real man if you can’t even protect your woman,” he taunted. “Are you just going to stand there and watch as I slit her throat? Or are you going to grow a spine and do what needs to be done?”
- Vincent clenched his jaw, his resolve wavering. Claire was the only thing that mattered to him, and he would do anything to protect her.
