• Alex was as surprised to see them all as they were. A lot of questions traveled between them but nobody asked them. Everyone was mute instead.
• He had just gotten to his parents' house from the airport very late. He had a few things to tidy up at work, most of which were about Lucas' company that Scarlett had saddled him with.
