• Scarlett was dumbfounded at first and she did not say anything to Alex who knelt before her with a ring in a box in his hand.
• "What is this?" She asked him, a bit shocked. Alex was not discouraged at all. He knew that it might be overwhelming for her and he understood how she felt.
• "Ever since the first day I set my eyes on you in the gas station, I've fallen helplessly in love with you," he said to her. Scarlett was hearing this for the first time and she was stunned. Something was not right, but she could not place her fingers on it. It confused her instead.
