Chapter 38

• Scarlett dialed Lucas for the umpteenth time but he would not respond to her. He had promised to come get her from the airport, and she had been there for over an hour and her feet were burning.
• Unluckily for her, Danielle and George did not join the crew back home. She had wanted to spend time with them on their little holiday, but the news Lucas broke to her three nights ago still rang a bell in her ear.
• "Lucas, please, come get me from the airport," she said as the call went straight to voicemail again. She huffed in exasperation and went to take a seat.
