Chapter 96 Are You Okay?

• A whole day passed without Kyle calling Hana. She wasn’t sure what that meant or if it signified the end of her relationship with him. Sitting by the window, she picked up the phone on the sill and pulled out her contact list. The one person she wanted to call was missing. She was silly not to have her husband-to-be number, and she didn’t know how to ask his mum or sister without calling attention to the problem.
• Kyle’s excuse had sounded genuine enough for the parents not to worry about her impromptu presence. Camilla had moved back to the house to make Hana’s stay more memorable, but she had been too disoriented last night and most of this morning. The family had chucked it up to her absence from Kyle, but it was more than that. It was the guilt of knowing she hurt him with her words. She really didn’t mean it, but when he continuously insisted, downplaying her wants to make himself feel better, she had felt like that shy girl who did all of her father’s bidding without a say.
• Hana rested her head against the window. A look at her email showed she had a copies of her manuscripts. She had tried working on the next book in her series to keep busy, the princess sisters story, but had only gotten two hundred words out before demotivation struck. What if Kyle stopped liking her? What if this was the end?
