Chapter 175 On The House Ii

  • Exiting the car, Hana waited for him to join her on the sidewalk. There were tables with umbrellas set outside the café to shield the customers from heat. It had been so long she was here. She never thought she would visit again. Kyle’s arm circled her waist. She stood on her toes to kiss him one last time.
  • They walked into the shop, and the smell of pastries, coffee, and latte welcomed her. An elderly woman stood behind the register with a man assisting her. There was a short line, so Hana waited for it to ease. The old couple didn’t notice her until she was right in front of them. The woman’s head raised first. She slipped off her glasses and gasped.
  • Hana placed a hand over her mouth to keep from crying or maybe screaming in excitement but her eyes watered. Leah rushed around the counter and engulfed her in a hug. The woman smelt of flour, eggs, and pastries. Hana had missed this smell. The last time she saw Leah was in January. When she had come here to write before those goons harassed her near the ally. She hated those men for what they did to her, but they led her to her husband. Speaking of Kyle, he placed a hand on her lower back so she could know he was here with her.
