• They entered the room, and Calvin let the ball bounce against his racket for a few seconds. This was where they first met. He had walked in here during a game session, and Charles invited him to stay for a game. They had gone on for dinner after and found out they were related. Their parents didn’t like each other, but they agreed not to let that dent their friendship. His siblings were cool with Charles, but he was closer to him since they were near in age and shared similar business and life interests.
• “What’s up with KP?” Charles asked.
• Charles slammed the ball on the floor, then sent it flying against the cream wall. Calvin moved to the other side of the room, waiting until the ball hit the ground before he slapped it with his racket. They went at it, their pace staying the same and their breaths even. They had done this so often that Calvin could play with his eyes closed.
