Chapter 5 Sibling Love, Not!

  • Chapter 4: Sibling Love, NOT!
  • A week had passed since the beating from her father and Jadiel was wary of the relative calm in the house. She was afraid that something would happen. Both she and her wolf, Sayrah, tried to keep their head down and out of sight. If she wasn’t heard, she wouldn’t be seen either. That meant no punishments, too.
  • She shook her head and forced her rambling thoughts to be quiet. It was almost dinner time, and the food would be done soon. Tonight’s dinner had lots of meat on it and the cooking process took hours to get it all done. She was tired, sweaty, and wanted to sit down.
  • That wasn’t allowed, of course, so she tried to bolster her lagging strength to finish so she could go home.
  • “Jadiel!”
  • She flinched when she heard Bella holler her name. She turned and bared her neck. Please, please, leave me alone, she chanted in her mind. She wanted the peace to last.
  • “Yes, ma’am?”
  • “Is the food done?”
  • “Yes. All the meat is ready to be served. The bread will be finished in five minutes. The side dishes are completed as well.”
  • Jadiel could feel the heat of Bella’s gaze. What was the older she-wolf plotting now?
  • “Well at least you did something right today,” growled Bella.
  • “Yes, ma’am.”
  • “Go get started on the dishes. You will be one of tonight’s servers.”
  • Jadiel groaned to herself. If she had to serve in the dining room, she would have to be extra alert for attacks. Her sister, Laura, and her sister’s cronies would be there in force. She didn’t want to experience a repeat of what had happened to her last year.
  • “Did you hear me?” snapped Bella.
  • “Yes, ma’am!” Jadiel rushed to go do the dishes.
  • ::Jadiel, we’ll be okay.::
  • ::I don’t know, Sayrah. I don’t have a good feeling about tonight.::
  • ::We can do this.::
  • She wasn’t so sure, but she didn’t argue with her wolf. Instead, she focused on doing the dishes.
  • ~***~
  • Laura Brown walked into the dining room with a smirk. She was instantly the center of attention and relished every second of it. Being the Alpha’s adopted daughter had its perks. It was even better that she had the respect and her stepsister, Jadiel, had none. It had been easy to push her aside and take her place as the Alpha’s main daughter.
  • “Laura, you’re looking good as always,” exclaimed Juniper Collins, one of her best friends.
  • “I agree,” added Mallory Lawson, her other best friend.
  • “Thank you both.” She preened at their praise. She lived for those moments when everyone’s attention and adoration were on her.
  • “What do you think, babe?” she purred as she glanced over at Seth Mason, her current boyfriend.
  • His green eyes focused on her as he gave her a once over and grinned. “Stunning,” he agreed.
  • Laura giggled and slid her arm through his. “Let’s go eat.”
  • They went to the head table and took their seats. Soon the Alpha and Luna arrived. She smiled at her mother and twin brothers. The rest of the pack filed in and sat down.
  • The enticing aroma of food filled the room, and the wolves growled their appreciation.
  • “Dinner is served,” announced Bella as the doors to the kitchen opened and the Omegas came out with the platters of food and began serving the pack.
  • Laura was happily chatting with Seth, Juniper, and Mallory when she caught a whiff of Jadiel. Her eyes narrowed. She spotted her leaving the kitchen with a large bowl of salad in her arms.
  • ::Watch this.:: She told her friends. She stood and quickly moved to block Jadiel’s path.
  • Jadiel halted and bowed her head. Laura wanted to laugh. She was going to enjoy this. Getting her stepsister into trouble was always a highlight of her day.
  • “Where are you going, Useless?”
  • “Please excuse me, Laura. I have to go put the salad on the table.”
  • “What was that? I couldn’t hear you,” she taunted Jadiel.
  • “I have to put the salad on the table,” Jadiel replied, her voice a little louder but still not loud enough to catch anyone’s attention.
  • Laura glanced around and noticed that several people were looking in their direction. She suddenly started shouting at Jadiel. “How dare you talk back to me, Omega!”
  • Jadiel’s head jerked up in confusion and fear. Laura relished every second of it. She didn’t give her stepsister time to react. She raised her hand and slapped Jadiel hard enough to send her to her knees, dropping the salad bowl in the process.
  • “Stupid, bitch. Don’t you know how to show respect? Or are you so stupid you can’t even put food on a table?”
  • When Jadiel glared at her, Laura bent down and grabbed her by her hair, pulling a startled cry from Jadiel.
  • “Did you just glare at me?” she hissed.
  • Jadiel frantically shook her head no.
  • “Liar!” Laura slapped her three more times until blood poured from Jadiel’s nose and lips.
  • “Laura, what is going on here?”
  • She glanced over her shoulder at her mother. She saw her stepfather standing beside her with a scowl on his face as he looked at Jadiel.
  • She let go of Jadiel. “This bitch talked back to me and spilled the salad.”
  • “Useless girl!” screeched her mother.
  • Laura hid her smile behind her hand as she watched her mother grab Jadiel’s arm and haul her upright.
  • Oh, this is going to be so good, she thought to herself as she watched her mother drag Jadiel from the room followed by her father.
  • She returned to her seat at the table, high-fived Mallory and Juniper before turning to kiss Seth.
  • “All in day’s work,” she purred before eating her dinner, content that her evening was free of trash.
  • ~***~
  • Jadiel couldn’t believe she was in trouble again thanks to her stepsister Laura’s machinations. She should have known that her day would end up like this. Things were going too smoothly for it to actually be a stress-free day. She wanted to run away far away.
  • “Useless, Cur,” spat Luna Alison as she dragged Jadiel’s resisting form toward the punishment cells.
  • “Please, no! I didn’t do anything wrong! Mercy, Luna!”
  • She stumbled when her stepmother let go and punched her in the stomach, sending Jadiel to the ground with a hurt cry. The pain was excruciating, and she tried to breathe. She couldn’t even dodge the sudden rain of blows that fell on her body from her stepmother. She curled into a ball, sobbing her hurt and her fear, powerless to stop it.
  • Finally, the blows stopped, and she lay there crying softly. She whimpered when Luna Alison kicked her in her lower back. Inside her mind, Sayrah howled defiance and urged her to get up and fight. Jadiel ignored her. She didn’t have the will or the energy to do anything.
  • Jadiel flinched when her father’s Alpha energy hit her, forcing Sayrah to submit.
  • “You are so disappointing.”
  • His words stabbed her heart. Any defiance she had died in that moment. She didn’t even resist when he cruelly grabbed her arm and pulled her to her feet. She was dragged into the punishment cells and roughly thrown into one.
  • She lay crumpled on the ground too hurt to care what was going on. She heard footfalls but didn’t move even when her father and one more entered the cell.
  • “Strip her.”
  • She felt sick to her stomach when a man’s rough hands tore off her maid dress. She tried to cover herself, but her hands were slapped away. She stood shivering in her bra and panties.
  • “I told you, Jadiel, that if you disobeyed again this would be your punishment. Maybe after spending a few days with Leroy, you’ll know your place.”
  • Fear clawed at her belly. She had heard stories about Leroy’s skills. She never thought she would be on the receiving end. She dared to raise her head to look at her father. His disgusted gaze hurt her heart. She saw the silver whip in his hand, and she backed up only to be stopped by Leroy’s hands on her arms, preventing escape.
  • “Chain her up. I will deliver the first blows as her Alpha. You, Leroy, shall do the rest.”
  • “Yes, my Alpha.”
  • Jadiel started to struggle but was no match for Leroy’s strength as he chained her hands above her head using the shackles dangling from the ceiling. She screamed at the burn of silver on her wrists.
  • She screamed again when her father lashed her across her stomach with the whip. “We shall start with ten.”
  • Sobbing, she pleaded again for her father not to hurt her. Her pleas fell on deaf ears as he began circling her, whipping her in different spots until blood flowed from the wounds and filled the air.
  • He leaned in close to her ear and growled, “Weak, useless girl. One more fuck up and you will be kicked out.” He handed the whip to Leroy with a nod and left the cell.
  • “Hi, my pretty. Let’s play,” cooed Leroy.
  • Jadiel raised her head, saw the look in the man’s eyes, and started screaming as the whip sang through the air.
