• Jadiel’s thoughts were running amok. Ever since the fight with Sierra, she’d been wallowing in feelings of self-loathing and worthlessness. She might be mated to a prince, but she was not royal material. Sierra had proven that abundantly with the fight earlier. Sayrah kept telling her that she was doing fine, but Jadiel knew that wasn’t true.
• All alphas wanted strong mates. She wasn’t strong. She was pathetically weak. She wanted to crawl to the nearest corner and cry. The painful throbbing of her wounded back didn’t help matters. Adding to her misery was the strange conversation she had with Aldrich on the way to the clinic.

She was a little intimidated by the doctor’s height and golden eyes. Once he started checking her over, she calmed down. His aura was calming and non-threatening, so she relaxed and let him take care of her injuries.
