Chapter 10 Dinner Banquet

  • Jadiel sat up with a startled cry. She glanced around the room, her mind slowly waking up. Her heart raced in her chest, and she took deep breaths trying to calm down. It was only three days ago that her stepmother had beat her and left her in the basement as punishment. They had finally let her out last night to cook a dinner that they complained about and found inedible. After that, her stepmother and Laura took turns assaulting her again. This time they threw her in her bedroom and told her that she had to be up bright and early to serve the family breakfast.
  • She looked at the time. It was five a.m. She still had an hour to get dressed, go downstairs, and prepare breakfast. She whimpered in pain as she forced her body to move. She stumbled her way to her bathroom. She looked in the mirror and cried softly. Her face sported a black eye on her right eye. Her lip was swollen, and her hair was a mess.
  • She removed her clothes and her tears flowed even more. Her body was full of bruises across her body. She knew her back was a wreck, too. After all, that was where her stepmother had hit her the most. Luna Alisson’s goal was to reopen the wounds Jadiel had gotten during her stint in the pack’s prison cells.
