Chapter 22 The Tour

• They rode the elevator down to the third floor and got out. She looked about impressed by the portraits of bygone members of the ruling family. In all the portraits they seemed to be happy even while projecting auras of strength and dignity. She twitched when Aidric gently squeezed her hand, and she glanced up at him. She blinked, startled by the smile on his face.
• “This floor is for the Betas, Gammas, their mates, and their children. The fourth floor where we were, is reserved for the royal family only. You have to have the elevator codes to access the third and fourth floors,” he explained as they started walking down the hall.
• Jadiel studied the decorations as they walked down the long hall, passing several rooms on the way to the stairs at the opposite end. It was strange that no one was on the floor with them, but she wasn’t complaining. She felt uncomfortable in this new place that would be her home.
