Chapter 5

  • Ava's voice was firm as she stood her ground. "Why have you come here? Get out of here now," she demanded, her eyes flashing with anger.
  • Adrian's stride was purposeful as he walked towards her, his face twisted in rage. Ava's eyes never left his, her expression unyielding.
  • "You've forgotten manners, baby," Ava said, her voice laced with sarcasm. "You shouldn't talk to me like that."
  • Just then, Riley appeared, drawn by the commotion. Her eyes widened in shock as she took in the scene before her—Adrian and his guards and the palpable tension in the air.
  • Adrian's gaze locked onto Riley, and his anger seemed to intensify. "I hate this sister of yours as much as I love you," he spat, his words dripping with venom.
  • Ava's laughter was bitter, her eyes glinting with sarcasm. "Do you even know the meaning of love, Adrian?" she asked, her voice heavy with disdain. "You're just full of selfishness and ego. You don't know what love is."
  • Adrian's face darkened, his jaw clenched in anger. Riley watched, her eyes wide with concern.
  • Adrian's words were laced with venom as he sneered at Ava. "Do you know the meaning of love? No, because you're blinded by your sister's lie. Open your eyes and see—your sister is selfish and can do anything for money. Look what she did—destroyed her own sister's house."
  • Ava's patience was wearing thin, her anger simmering.,
  • Adrian continued, his voice dripping with malice. "There's still time; leave this gold-digger and money-hungry girl and come back to me. My innocent brother is in jail only because of this girl. I'm giving you a chance."
  • Ava's anger boiled over, and she slapped Adrian hard across the face. The sound echoed through the room, a stark contrast to the tense silence that had preceded it.
  • "My sister and your brother—if anyone is innocent, it's only my sister," Ava said, her voice firm. "Keep your ego aside and think once with a cool mind. But you won't do that. It's futile to expect love from a person who cheated on me just before our divorce."
  • Ava's words cut deep, and Adrian's face twisted in anger. "You think I'd take you back after everything?" Ava's voice rose in incredulity. "You cheated on me, and now you're blaming my sister for everything. Did she make you sleep with another woman before our divorce too? I'm happy we're divorced. No wonder your brother is like this—it's because he's learned from the best."
  • Ava's eyes blazed with anger and hurt. "You're trying to shift the blame onto my sister, but the truth is, you're the one who's broken. You're the one who doesn't know what love means. And I'm glad I'm free from you."
  • Tears welled up in Ava's eyes, but she stood tall, her shoulders squared. She refused to back down, refused to show weakness in front of Adrian.
  • The room grew tense, the air thick with accusation and pain. Adrian stepped closer to Ava, his eyes filled with a mix of anger and desperation. He reached out, his hand tangling in her hair, and pushed her firmly against the wall. A gasp escaped her lips as she felt the cold plaster against her back.
  • "You didn't do it right," he spat, his voice harsh.
  • Panic flashed through Ava's eyes, but she remained still, her body trembling. Riley, unable to bear the sight of her sister's distress, began to move towards them but was swiftly caught by Adrian's towering guards. She struggled, her eyes pleading, as tears streamed down her cheeks.
  • "Leave her," Ava managed to say, her voice strained.
  • Adrian's expression grew darker. "You're feeling pain, aren't you?" he shouted, his voice echoing through the room. "Seeing your sister like this, I am also feeling it, Ava. This girl is causing so much trouble for my brother."
  • Riley's eyes were wide with fear, her body trembling in the guards' grasp. Ava's heart ached for her, and she begged, "How can you be so ruthless?"
  • Adrian's smile was twisted. "I haven't even started yet, baby," he said, his voice low and threatening. "You want to see her torn clothes on the floor?"
  • Ava's eyes filled with tears. "No, please, Adrian," she begged, her voice shaking. "Riley is like your sister."
  • Adrian's grip on Ava's hair tightened, and his eyes searched hers for a hint of doubt. But all he found was resolve.
  • "Leave this stubbornness and come with me," he demanded, his voice a low growl.
  • Ava's voice was firm, even as her body trembled with fear. "Never," she said. "I can't live with a cheater."
  • Adrian's face contorted with rage, and before she could react, his lips crushed down onto hers. The force was so intense that Ava's head snapped back, and she tasted the metallic tang of blood on her tongue. She pushed against him with all her might, her hands flailing, trying to break free. But Adrian was too strong, his muscular frame pinning her in place.
  • The guards held Riley back, her screams of anguish muffled by their thick arms. Ava felt her world spinning as Adrian's kiss grew more demanding, his teeth biting into her bottom lip. The taste of her own blood filled her mouth, and she realized with horror that she was powerless to stop him.
  • Adrian's hand left her hair and wrapped around her neck, squeezing slightly. Ava's breath hitched, and she felt her knees weaken. He broke the kiss, panting, his eyes wild. "You're mine," he growled, his voice animalistic.
  • Ava stared up at him, her eyes filled with a mix of anger and fear. "I'll never be yours again," she whispered, her voice hoarse.
  • Adrian's face twisted in rage as he spat at Ava. "I'll make your life a living hell. I'll push you so hard that you'll come crawling back to me."
  • Ava stood firm, her eyes flashing with defiance. "That will never happen," she said, her voice steady.
  • Adrian turned and stormed out, leaving Ava shaken. She collapsed to the ground, overcome with emotion. Riley rushed to her side, concern etched on her face.
  • Riley's voice was filled with guilt. "Because of me, you're suffering like this," she said, her words barely above a whisper.
  • Ava wrapped her arms around Riley, holding her close. "It's not your fault," Ava said softly. "We'll fight for justice, and I'll be strong for you."
  • Ava comforted Riley; she hid her own pain. But inside, she was breaking. The man she loved had hurt her deeply, and she felt worthless to him.
  • Ava's tears fell silently as she held Riley, her heart heavy with sorrow. Yet, she knew she had to keep going, for Riley's sake.
