Chapter 15

• Ava walked out of Dennis's room, lost in thought, when she bumped into Dominic in the hallway. She hadn't expected to see him there, and her nervousness spiked as she apologized. "Sorry, Mr. Black, I didn't see you."
• Dominic's expression softened, and he replied, "It's Dominic. Call me Dominic." His voice was gentle, and Ava felt a flutter in her chest as she nodded in response. "Sure, Dominic."
• Dominic's eyes locked onto hers, and he asked, "Upset about the upcoming trial?" Ava's emotions were written all over her face, and she couldn't hide her anxiety. She nodded, and Dominic's expression turned reassuring.
