Chapter 17 Settling Scores

• "Xyla Fuller, I have something to say to Mr. Harmon." Selina looked at the woman in red before averting her gaze at the stunning man.
• Xyla Fuller?
• It then dawned on Denise that the woman in a red dress was the head of the design partner at Harmon Corporation's subsidiary brand, Glimmer Jewels. Denise heard that the Fullers and the Harmons had a close relationship, which was why Xyla could become the head of department at such a young age.
• "I'm in the middle of reporting to Mr. Harmon. Do you, Miss Summers, know the principle of first come, first served?" Xyla retorted unhappily.
• Leaning back in his chair, Alex swept his cold gaze across Denise and slightly frowned.
• Didn't this woman call me this morning and say something came up?
• It's only been a while. How did Denise get so messy and let a furious Selina pull her over here?
• He then returned the design drafts to Xyla. "Work on the refinements."
• "Yes, Mr. Harmon." With a nod, Xyla received the designs and stood to the side, but she did not leave.

• "Mr. Harmon, Denise was absent from work without reason. I can't allow such an undisciplined employee to continue working at the secretary department," Selina was the first to complain.

Denise narrowed her eyes. "You made me wait for you at the company for the whole night, so shouldn't you give me an explanation?"
• As Selina was not expecting her to mention last night's event before Alex, her face paled as she pretended to be calm. "What are you talking about, Denise? I only told you to go home after you finished your work. When did I say I'd be sending some more data over? You must have misheard me!"
• Denise had already guessed that Selina would deny it, so she slowly took out her phone and pressed a button.
• Then, Selina's voice sounded from the speaker. "I just just received a call from Mr. Robinson. He said that there's another set of data that needs to be added in. I'm bringing it to you now, so wait there."
• "You!" Selina did not expect Denise to record their call from last night. She bit her lower lip, wanting to respond to Denise. "Mr. Harmon, that's not what happened. You can't believe her. Actually…"
• At that moment, Denise interrupted Selina with a carefree smile, "Miss Summers, are you going to say that the recording is fake? That I found someone to forge it? There's a very simple way to prove it. We just need to hire a professional to evaluate it and we'll know if it's real or not."
