Chapter 17 Steaming Stream 2

• The recruits all murmured among each other as they all looked straight at the steamy stream. They weren't too worried at first because they had thought of walking across the stream in their soul forms until Edgar busted their bubbles.
• Freya looked pensively at the water. She didn't want to be the first to try out the water, and she didn't need to look around to see that the other recruits thought the same way. Everyone was waiting for the bravest one to step into the boiling water.
• Three people had already started walking back in defeat. Freya looked at their slouched figures as they receded individually, but she could not turn back. She had nowhere to return to, so it was either boiling water or being homeless without food or shelter. The boiling water looked more promising—better cooked and sheltered than a whole leg and no shelter.
