Chapter 8 Casper Would Not Make It Through the Night

  • With his face as white as a sheet, Professor Wright fell to the ground. "No, it can't be me. I shouldn't have blindly inserted the needle. I'm sorry, but I may not be able to save Mr. Langston. His condition is completely different from what I had expected!"
  • In the wheelchair, Casper fell back into a coma. His breathing was weak with blood coming out of his mouth and nose.
  • Tyler then grabbed Professor Wright by his collar and said in anger, "What are you saying?! Didn't you say you have a plan to cure Mr. Langston? So, hurry up and do it! If anything happens to the president, I'll kill you myself!"
  • Professor Wright trembled with his face still pale. "Nothing will change even if you kill me. I didn't expect things to turn out this way. I had this under control… I thought I had this under control…"
  • With his bloodshot eyes, Tyler gritted his teeth and roared, "You f*cking… Quick, call an ambulance. Take him to the hospital! Take him there, now!" Saying that, he shoved the professor aside before taking his phone out.
  • "It's useless. He shouldn't be moved so carelessly with his current condition. Otherwise, he would die on the spot."
  • Tyler's phone fell from his hands to the ground as he listened to the professor's explanation. With his eyes still red with anger, he grabbed the professor once more and bellowed, "Then do something! Save him! I don't care how much money you'll take. Just save him!"
  • "I can't do it. Someone had performed acupuncture on him. Unless we can find the person who had performed the acupuncture, we won't be able to save him even if the world's leading specialists were here."
  • Someone had performed acupuncture on him? That's impossible! Besides Mrs. Langston and Mrs. Jenkins, no one else had come close to Mr. Langston during his coma. Unless it was one of the two of them, Tyler thought. However, he immediately dismissed such absurd thoughts, as it was impossible for him to see Mrs. Jenkins being the one to perform acupuncture on Casper. It was the same for Natalie, as she did not look as though she was someone who had a medical background. Don't tell me it was someone from Henry's side? But, what should I do now? Since Mr. Langston had only just woken up, if news of him falling back into a coma after just a single day were to spread…
  • In the Langston Residence.
  • Dozens of cars had entered the Langston Residence. Seated in a wheelchair, Henry was carried out from the car. Since he was surprised to hear the news of Casper on his deathbed just after one day the latter had woken up, he brought his men to the Langston Residence despite his ruined legs, as he could not miss this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity that had fallen on his lap.
  • In the hall, a share transfer agreement was placed in front of Ethel. "Mother, Casper will not make it through the night. As long as you sign this agreement that transfers yours and Casper's shares to my name, I promise to hold a dignified memorial service for him that would never disgrace the name of the Langston Family." Henry laughed wantonly.
  • The moment Ethel heard Henry's words, her blood pressure immediately spiked. "What nonsense are you spouting?! Casper is doing just fine! How could he be dying?!"
  • "Everyone will die in the end. It's not like Casper is some god, so why wouldn't he die? If you don't believe me, you can take a look at this picture yourself." Saying that, Henry showed Ethel his phone. On his phone was a photo of Casper unconscious with blood flowing out from his nose and mouth in the Hillside Villa's study room.
  • "I-Impossible!" Ethel said and wanted to take the phone from Henry, as she couldn't believe her eyes.
  • However, Henry was a step quicker in keeping his phone away. With a smug smile, he said, "It's up to you to believe me. But, then again, it was unfortunate that the previous car accident did not end his life there. Nevertheless, he will definitely not survive this time."
  • Ethel's blood pressure soared through the roof. Her expression underwent a drastic change. "W-What are you saying? Were you the one behind Casper's car accident?!"
  • Henry sneered, "So what if I was the one?" Then, he gritted his teeth and continued, "Mother, even if I am not your own child, you have watched me grow up ever since I was just a child. So, why have you never helped me even once? Why were you playing favorites within the family? Even when Hector passed away, you'd rather help that b*stard instead of me! Now, look! That b*stard is on his deathbed now! No one will be able to go against me anymore! Hahahahaha!" When he was done, he smiled sinisterly. "Somebody, help Old Mrs. Langston with the signature."
  • With a frown, Ethel clenched her chest. "It's useless for me to sign this. I've already expected that Casper would not live long, so I had my lawyer transfer the shares to Natalie's name some time ago. The only way you'll obtain those shares is by having Natalie sign this agreement!"
  • With Henry's expression immediately turning twisted, he roared, "You'd rather give those shares to an outsider instead of me?! Just what do you take me for? Fine! Since I am not afraid to even kill Casper, I can add one more woman to my kill count! Men! Go to Hillside Villa and bring that b*tch over here!"
