Chapter 11 I'm Damned in the First Place

  • As her eyes slightly reddened, Natalie yelled bitterly, "What do you mean by that? Stop wronging me, Casper Langston! If I had known that you were a vegetable, I'd never have married you! I only came to check on you out of kindness earlier and I locked the door by accident because I have a habit of locking the door behind me! If I'd known earlier that you'd sling mud at me, I wouldn't have come!" Does he think that I'm willing to marry him? Would I have married a vegetable if I had another choice?!
  • Her explanation sounded legitimate and there was nothing wrong with her facial expression. Still, she deserves death for entering my room as she pleases, thought Casper. "You think you've been wronged, huh? Natalie Hartwell, I'll personally strip you of your disguise sooner or later! Get out of my room now!" he barked coldly.
  • Natalie clenched her fists and left his room.
  • Meanwhile, at the Langston Residence, Henry immediately had his men bring Ethel along to Hillside Villa after getting the phone call.
  • A dozen cars came to a stop. Stepping out of his car, he looked at the gate of the Hillside Villa with a sneer. From now on, he'd be the owner of this place. So what if Casper is all-powerful? There's no way a dead person could fight against me!
  • The gate was opened from the inside, and Tyler was standing at the entrance. Everything seemed somewhat unreal in lights and shadows.
  • Tyler stepped out of the entrance before bowing respectfully. "Mr. Henry, congratulations on becoming the official owner of the Hillside Villa."
  • Henry laughed. Tyler used to look down on him and bark at him like a mad dog whenever he saw him. Look who's bowing to me and groveling at my feet now!
  • A quavering voice then sounded behind him. "Tyler, where is Casper? H-Has he really—" Ethel asked before shedding tears uncontrollably. She had a surge in blood pressure, but her face was pale.
  • Tyler replied, "Yes, Old Mrs. Langston. Mr. Langston has passed away. I'm sorry for your loss."
  • So, Casper is really dead! Henry laughed even more heartily. His eyes ablaze with excitement, he immediately had his men carry him into the villa. However, as soon as he entered the villa, the door banged shut behind him.
  • Casper was safely sitting in his wheelchair not far away.
  • Henry's face turned as pale as a sheet. He cried out, "No, no, no, no! No way! You're alive, Casper? You fooled me!" I'm finished! How can Casper be still alive? Those specialists have left, haven't they? How could he possibly be still alive?! However, all of this didn't matter anymore because he knew Casper very well. Even if he begged Casper on his knees right now, Casper wouldn't let him off!
  • At this moment, a hail of blood-curdling screams suddenly came from behind, only to vanish soon afterward.
  • After only a few minutes, Henry's lackeys were all killed, and the pungent smell of blood filled the air.
  • "What did I say last time? I said I'd kill you and feed you to the dogs if you tried it again." Casper smiled. "Since you have such a bad memory, let's kill you and feed you to the dogs."
  • Ethel implored tearfully, "You can't kill him, Casper. No matter how you put it, he's your fourth uncle; he's got the blood of our family running in his veins. He's done wrong this time, but please spare his life for my sake. Just take this as my plea to you, okay?"
  • Henry turned to look at her with an ashen face. Little did he think that she would come forward and plead on his behalf at the last moment.
  • Casper replied, "He tried to kill me, and now you're asking me to let him off?" His voice was chilly and apathetic, and his face seemed a little pale and haggard since he hadn't recovered. He was very disappointed. He had given Henry too many chances, but Henry attempted to take his life time after time.
  • Ethel was wiping her tears. "I know that, Casper. Henry has indeed done you a disservice, but he's a member of the Langston Family, after all. I can't bring myself to… Just strip him of everything, banish him from our family, and forbid him to come back for life, okay?"
  • What? Strip me of everything and banish me from the family? That means I'm gonna fall from heaven to hell overnight! I'd rather be killed! Henry's eyes became bloodshot at once. He yelled at Casper, "No! I don't want to lose anything! I don't want to… Kill me, Casper! Just kill me!"
  • Casper suddenly changed his mind. "Okay. Just throw him out and keep him alive. I want him to live miserably and humbly like an unwanted stray dog!"
  • Henry growled in a ferocious voice, "You're an *sshole, Casper! I'm your fourth uncle! How dare you do this to me! Damn you!"
  • A hint of a chilling sneer played across Casper's lips in the dim light. "I'm damned in the first place. Even if I'm going to hell, I'll send you to hell first! Whoever dares to help him will be going against me. Drag him out of here!"
  • "Yes, Mr. Langston."
