Chapter 21 I Didn't Say So

• Natalie held her tattered dress close, her heart racing with fear. Tears fell down her cheeks. Alexis had arranged the meeting, and he bought the dress for her too. Harold did want her to have a few drinks with him. He said he would approve her loan if she slept with him, but she refused without hesitation. She was pregnant, so alcohol was off limits for her, and she splashed Harold's face with the wine due to his insults. That crossed him, and he said he would never approve her loan.
• She wanted to save her company, but not like this. "I don't care about marrying you, Casper! We're getting a divorce tomorrow. This is not a negotiation. It's a statement. You disgust me," she said coldly as she got up.
• Casper's face fell. She hated him. Even if she didn't say it, he could see that she thought of him as something worse than a demon. His rage finally erupted, and he couldn't hold it back anymore.
