• "How are you getting on with your assigned work?
• "I love the job so much. This is my dream job, what I have wanted to do for so long." I turn to face Maria fully. She is the girl sitting in the next cubicle. We, the interns, were divided into different departments, and in the research department, the interns were given a small space to work, each with a designated desk and chair and a light board separating one from another, almost like a library setting. You have to stand up and look over before you can see your next neighbor. Maria has been so eager to make friends with the way she has been leaning over her board since my arrival and talking non-stop to me. I already know that she has two pets, a cat and a dog, each representing the two different guys she is dating. She lives with her dad; her mom is out of town, and she is the only child, and she is yet to attend college.
