Chapter 4
- LUCA
- "You know there's nothing in my kitchen to serve you breakfast in bed, but for the good morning kiss..."
- "Oh...gosh!" She pushes me off and jump on the floor in haste immediately the sound of my alarm clock roars on the bedside table. "It's 8:00am already." She hurries to the window and stare out through it. She turns around with panicked filled eyes to stare at my confused expression. "I have to sneak back into my bedroom before my parents realize I'm gone."
- For a moment I taught this was all real, some hot chick in my bed seducing me with her words and me about to ravish her. Slowly, realization dawns on me. It's Lily, Smith's daughter. My nextdoor neighbor. I snap out of my subconscious as her frightened voice grows louder. "Calm down, there won't notice you're gone."
- "I have to sneak back into my room, pretend like I slept there last night, take a shower, dress in my bikini and join you to the beach." She pulls the window upwards and just when I lean in and I'm about to kiss her forehead, she jumps out of the window. Realizing what she had just done, she flashes me a small apologetic smile.
- "Can you bring a few cookies from your Kate's oven?"
- She grins at me. "You mean steal."
- "Uhm...urrh...no I mean like."
- She press in her lips trying to suppress her laughter, and I can't see how she can find humor in my suffering. She burst into fits of laughter. "You need to see your face right now. I'm just kidding, I will bring it." She turns around and slowly tip toe into her yard. She tries to open her window from the outside, but with the way she's struggling I think it's locked. She glance at me and I can see the panic in her eyes.
- What could happen if her parents find out she was with me in my bed last night? I'm so lost in thoughts that I don't see when she opens the window, glances in my direction, flashes me a bright smile before climbing in to her room and shutting the window behind her. I let out the breath I didn't even realize I was holding. I peel off my remaining clothes and enter the bathroom.
- The bathroom is a chamber of white marble and chrome, with a bathtub that could easily accommodate a small gathering, but I have it all to myself. The tub is filled to the brim with steaming water, scented with the faint hint of sandalwood and vanilla. The scent of the water is intoxicating, a blend of earthy and sweet that promised to soothe my weary bones.
- I brush my teeth after bathing and I randomly pick a beach shirt and ash colored shorts to wear with a flip-flop. I hang a towel over my neck and walk out of my room.
- Out of the expensive cars in my garage, I decide to ride my Rolls-Royce La Rose Noire Droptail today.
- The street is quiet save for the occasional chirping of birds on a nearby tree. I'm quite anxious sitting in my car which is parked by the roadside while waiting for Lily who's been inside her house for a pretty long time and I have no idea what's going on inside. The guilt I'm feeling right now will not even let me walk through the door of Smith's house to checkout things myself. I feel like walking into their apartment is like walking into my trail and death sentence. If it were any other girl I wouldn't care, but with Lily I'm always too guilty...too careful.
- After waiting for what felt like an eternity. I see the front door of Smith's house creak open, I'm intently watching through my rearview mirror. Lily runs out of the building wearing a white kimono jacket over a blue bikini and I mutter to myself. "Can she get anymore beautiful?" She's running too fast I'm scared she may stumble over a stone and break a teeth.
- She spots my car in the distance and continue running towards it. She stops by the front passenger door knocking frantically on the window. I press a button and the door automatically open for her to climb in. "Let's go...let's go!" She orders breathlessly.
- Without even thinking, I put the keys in the ignition, the car spurs to life and I maneuver it into the road and drive off with demon speed, I don't even spare a glance at the back to see who's chasing us. I'm feeling like I'm live on an action scene. "Are you okay? Did you get it? Who's chasing us?"
- "No one."
- "No one!?" I step on the brakes immediately, causing the car to come to a halt. I turn to the back and indeed there's no one following us. She opens her kimono jacket and the inner pocket is filled with lots and lots of cookies. "Did you steal Kat's entire oven?" I resume driving, but slower this time.
- "I packed enough to serve us breakfast. We don't have to go back home for breakfast, you can take me to the bar from the beach."
- I look her over. The bikini she's wearing does nothing to conceal her contours. Her tits and thighs are on full display. Only I have the right to see her this way. And I'm that crazy to take her to the bar in a bikini. "I'm not taking you to a bar dressed like that."
- "What's wrong with what I'm wearing."
- "You're wearing a bikini." I snap at her and stress the words for emphasis as if she's too dumb to understand. I'm just too pissed.
- She rolls her eyes at me. "This is what modern bikinis look like. It's decent compared to what the girls you take out wear."
- "The girls I take out?" I ask her but she ignores me and stare out through the window.
- "Come on, you have to take me out. I mean I just stole for you that should count for something."
- "It should. But it doesn't."
- She groans and starts eating a cookie. "Open up." She pushes a cookie into my mouth, I bit the cookie with my teeth and intentionally bit her finger. "Ouch." She redraws it instantly and I'm laughing so hard. She brings the finger very close to her eyes and scrutinizes it. "This looks like a love bite."
- The drive to Evergreen Beach is a short one. I take the last turn and burst into an open space. I park my car in the straight line where cars and bicycles are parked.
- After stepping out of the driver's seat, I wedge the door with my knee causing it to remain open while I bend forward into the car to adjust the seat. I straighten myself and look to the side of the car, Lily is not there.
- There's a tall boy standing behind my car talking and laughing with Lily. Glaring at them, I immediately redraw my knee from the car's door, slamming it shut. The loud thud startle them both.
- Good. I know you two were doing something bad.
- I leisurely stride to where they are standing behind my Rolls-Royce intentionally blocking Lily and shoving her to my back. I don't care if she falls. I stare down at the boy, despite his tall height I'm still towering over him, as it is I'm literally looking down on him. "I'm with her."
- The boy appears pretty uncomfortable and intimated with the way I'm glaring at him. "I'm just trying to..."
- "To what?"
- "I taught you're like her elder brother or something..."
- "And if I am?" I wait for him to answer but he's too dumb he has no reply. I recognize the phone in his hands as Lily's, I snatch it from him. "Now fuckoff kid!" I spit the words in his face.
- The boy raise his hands in submission while walking away and mumbling something like why am I always so angry.
- I turn around to give Lily her phone but her arms are folded across her chest, lips pressed in a thin line, jaw tightened, eyes narrowed, eyebrows shooting high, I can literally see the steam that's coming out from her nostrils. She's so mad. "What was that for? You just embarrassed the life out of me."
- She starts walking past me. "Now he's never going to talk to me again." I follow her. "That's exactly the point, he's not good enough for you."
- Lily stops walking and turn around shooting daggers at me. "Then who is, you?"
- No, I'm the absolute worst! No one is good enough for you Lily. "Are you mad at me?"
- "If I get mad that means I still care, worry when I don't." She close her eyes, unfold her arms and raise them up to her shoulder with her thumb and index pressed together she takes a deep breath and slowly exhale while dropping her hands down to her side. She opens her eyes, and that beautiful smile is back. "All good."
- While Lily eyes were closed, a sick thought crossed my mind. I could grab her neck with my big hands and push her to the ground. The force of my hands will squeeze the air from her lungs, while she's choking my lips will descend on hers in a brutal kiss swallowing her cries for help. No one will hear her, no one will know what happened.
- Which normal person enjoy such dark thoughts? I shake my head in an attempt to drive away the thoughts. I'm not normal. I'm wierd. I'm twisted.
- "The view is so beautiful." Lily's face lights up.
- The beach is lovesick. it's so disgusting, I want to puke.
