- The limousine pulled through the tall iron gates of the Castillo mansion, and the tires crunched softly against the gravel driveway. The house loomed ahead, every window dark except for the soft glow of the entrance lights.
- Carlos sat stiffly in the back seat, Eena's head still resting against his shoulder. She hadn't moved in the last ten minutes, her breathing was slow and shallow.
