• Valeria de la Vegas. The name that brought pain and anguish to Carlos Castillo. The woman he fell deeply in love with for years. The same woman who changed his love life for the worse.
• She sat before her mirror, staring as if there were another version of her staring back. Her red mesh nightgown clung loosely to her skin, exposing its milk-like feature. She moved the comb slowly, running it deliberately over her full hair.
• Besides her stood a half-empty bottle of whiskey, next to a glass only halfway filled. A fresh breeze lingered in the room, complemented by the scent of vanilla.
