Chapter 2
- All throughout the night I just couldn’t sleep. I leaned against my room wall, crying with my gaze fixed outside through the window until the sky began to brighten, a sign that it was time for me to venture out and start my day and of course start preparing.
- I knew I had to be quick to avoid incurring Alpha Reginald's wrath this morning.
- *** ****
- Time flies, and before I knew it, I had finished getting ready. I ran my fingers over the fabric, marveling at its texture. Tears welled up in my eyes as I realized that it had been five long years since I had last worn clothes like these. I had been reduced to nothing, and today, as my body was privileged to wear them again, it felt like another chapter in my sorrowful fate.
- “KNOCK. KNOCK”.
- A sudden knock at the door instantly jolted me out of my miserable thoughts. Letting out a deep frustrated sigh, I opened the door only to find Killian, my worst nightmare with Beta Edward right behind him.
- Killian gave me a wicked grin and I stepped back a bit. “Good bye, little nuisance."
- I smiled, not bothering to hide the disgust I have for him in my face.
- How much I yearned to wipe those grins off him.
- "We should start going," Edward's impatient words suddenly snapped me out of my thoughts, "The beta of the Black Moon Pack is here."
- I gave him a sad smile, nodding. Almost closer to the pack building, Beta Edward stopped and turned with a c*****d eyebrow. " Where is your luggage?”
- Hmmm
- Is the way he asked as if I had any.
- "Nothing important to pack.” I replied shortly. He gave me a long sympathetic look before saying, “Fine, we should start going."
- Stopping in front of the pack building, I couldn’t help but noticed Evenly’z beaming smile like ‘ finally, they are able to get rid of me’
- Sighs*
- I turned to see Alpha Reginald and the so called Beta of the black moon pack deep in conversation beside a sleek red BMW, and I knew it had everything to do with my departure.
- So everything's been settled now," Alpha Reginald said, turning to look at me with a dismissive gaze. "She's officially under your Alpha's control, no longer a part of this place."
- It's crystal clear that he never wanted me from the very beginning.
- "As you wished, Alpha Reginald," the beta of the black moon pack replied.
- Somehow something about him doesn’t seem right, he is cold and scary and I have this feeling that somehow my stay there is going to be worst.
- “We have to leave now, miss, my Alpha can’t wait to see you." He said and I felt my heart skipped. He exchange a strange look with Alpha Reginald before opening the door for me to climb the car.
- The side of his lips curled up in a dirty smirk.
- But then my eyes locked with Edward, and he flashed me an awkward smile. The traces of pity still lingered in his gaze, just as they did yesterday. He have been acting pretty strange since the death of my parents and couldn’t even stare me long in the eyes.
- I don’t know but I feel like he is keeping something from me. Something that I deserve to know but what could that be?
- "We don't mess with time, Miss Isabella," the cold voice of the black moon beta grabbed ng attention.
- Sighing, I tear my gaze away from beta Edward and without saying a word, I walked over and got into the car.
- The door was forcefully slammed shut, causing me to flinch in fear. I watched as the beta exchanged a final handshake with Alpha Reginald before getting into the passenger seat.
- A surge of pain overwhelmed me. It was unbearable, and I couldn't bring myself to look at the faces of those heartless creatures again.
- The car started, and we drove towards the direction of the Black Moon Pack in absolute silence. Nothing was say as we rode past the forests and mountains, the silence just hung in the air for what felt like forever.
- It was a bit unsettling, to be honest. The Black Moon pack is about an eight-hour drive from our pack, so it was quite a journey. We entered the western region, which serves as their capital, and after a while, we finally reached the well-known Black Moon pack. Honestly, everything there was absolutely stunning! The wild forests were so beautiful, and the pack areas were meticulously swept and maintained. It was quite a sight to behold!
- We drove for a while before the car suddenly came to a stop at a massive building which I assumed to be their Alpha pack building.
- The view was absolutely breathtaking, and at that moment, my stomach couldn't help but grumble.
- Shit!**
- I slowly squeeze it through the fabric. Oh no…..! I realized that I had skipped dinner yesterday due to the pain I was feeling and the heaviness in my heart. It's not like I get to enjoy better meals, but at least the leftovers from the kitchen usually go a very long way for me.
- The car engine was switched off, and for the first time since the trip, the beta turned to me and said, "We are here, Miss Isabella." That's all he said.
- Then, he opened his door and got out to open mine, treating me as if I were someone important. I watched as the warriors hurried towards us, showing their respect to the beta, and then they rushed to get my belongings. But unfortunately, I had packed nothing... Just like I mentioned earlier, it was just me and myself on this journey.
- The beta shook his head, and they got the hint and scurried away. I helped myself down from the car, feeling everyone's curious eyes on me. If only they knew that this pale, weak-looking girl had been married off to their Alpha as a typical slave and someone to use and quench his sexual desires.
- Though one thing is for sure, Alpha Reginald, no matter how much pain and suffering I endure in this life, mark my words. One day, just one day, I'll return and take back what is rightfully mine. Until then……
