• It was Jodie's number. Why is she calling me right now? I was sleeping so soundly. She better have a good reason for waking me up from my dream so early in the morning.
• I picked up the phone. “What is it? I'm sleeping.”
• “I didn't want to do this either. Someone called me earlier saying that he wants to talk to you. I have no idea why he decided to call me instead of you if he wants to find you.” Jodie sounded similarly pissed off.
