• I rushed over to the school dance hall to make it in time before Kate would come, she had told me to be right there waiting for her after five hours, I had been counting the time.
• Everyone seems to be working hard for this show, there was no practice hall I passed that they weren’t practicing in, I felt left out since there was no group that wanted me, the mean girls had been so clear about it and that was the reason Kate was taking that big risk and it was all for me.
• I stood by a pillar in the lobby glancing down at my wristwatch, I had been here twenty minutes earlier and had been waiting. I glanced sideways for any sight of Kate but she was not forthcoming.
